Job descriptionReview and vet loan-related property documents submitted by applicants for housing finance. Draft and audit legal documentation, including APF (Approved Project Files), Indemnity Bonds, Public Notices, Affidavits, etc. Draft legal opinions and ensure statutory compliance as per lending institutions' norms. Liaise with internal business teams and external stakeholders including banks, financial institutions, and developers for legal clearances. Provide support to the credit and risk teams by offering legal insights in project finance and retail lending. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Provide legal advisory support on property laws, RERA, and regulatory frameworks applicable to affordable housing. (Optional) Assist in arbitration, DRT, and other court proceedings if required. Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation matters. Strong understanding of property laws, land title investigation, and affordable housing schemes. Hands-on experience with drafting and vetting of legal documents. Familiarity with institutional lending processes and financial documentation. Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in legal research and opinion drafting. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized university. Minimum 3+ years of experience in legal due diligence related to property and home loans. Exposure to affordable housing finance and experience working with financial institutions (HFCs / NBFCs / Banks) is preferred.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly diligent and detail-oriented legal professional to join our Legal team, specializing in real estate and property due diligence within the affordable housing finance segment. The role involves end-to-end handling of legal verification, title due diligence, and loan documentation for housing finance cases, ensuring regulatory and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Title Due Diligence & Legal Verification
- Conduct legal due diligence of immovable properties and prepare Title Search & Title Investigation Reports (13–30 years).
- Verify original property documents related to Home Loans, LAP, Commercial Loans, Project Finance, etc.
- Analyze and opine on property title, including government bodies like MHADA, CIDCO, SRA, and Co-operative Housing Societies.
