Description : Manager – Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (Shared Services)

Department : Finance Shared Services

Reports To : Head – Finance & Accounts

Location : Lactalis India, Chennai

Employment Type : Full-time

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions within the Shared Services Centre at Lactalis India. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant processing of transactions in alignment with the company's financial policies and Indian regulatory requirements. The Manager will drive operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across AP and AR processes, supporting the dynamic needs of the dairy and FMCG industry.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage AP and AR teams, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Define and implement process KPIs, SLAs, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, supply chain, and treasury teams to ensure alignment and service delivery.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and compliance with Indian tax and regulatory requirements (e.g., GST, TDS).
  • Ensure timely vendor reconciliations and resolution of disputes.
  • Monitor AP aging and manage payment cycles to optimize working capital.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Supervise collections, and cash application processes.
  • Resolve customer disputes and ensure accurate account reconciliations.
  • Support credit risk management in coordination with the sales and credit control teams.
  • Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
  • Support statutory and internal audits with required documentation and analysis.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on AP / AR performance, aging, and risk areas.
  • Qualifications

  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
  • 8–12 years of experience in finance operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role in a shared services or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Indian tax laws (GST, TDS) and global accounting standards.
  • Expierience in Shared Service centres overseas is added advantage.
