Zabbix Monitoring Engineer

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Zabbix Monitoring Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in setting up, configuring, and maintaining Zabbix environments along with strong scripting and database skills.

Key Responsibilities :

Create and configure hosts, host groups, templates, items, triggers, and actions within Zabbix to monitor devices and servers.

Install and configure Zabbix Agent and Proxy on virtual machines.

Integrate monitoring solutions using various networking protocols (TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, DNS, SNMP v2 / v3, etc.).

Work with SNMP MIB files and OIDs for device monitoring.

Utilize Zabbix API methods and understand Zabbix backend DB schema for automation and reporting.

Troubleshoot monitoring-related issues and provide analytical insights.

Develop utilities and scripts using Python or Shell scripting to enhance Zabbix functionality.

Work with MySQL / MariaDB databases for monitoring data management.

Manage Linux environments and schedule tasks via cronjobs.

Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to ensure effective monitoring coverage.

Implement API-based monitoring integrations as needed.

Requirements :

6–7 years of relevant experience in Zabbix and monitoring systems.

Strong understanding of networking concepts and Linux systems.

Hands-on experience with Python / Shell scripting.

Solid knowledge of MySQL / MariaDB.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have :

Experience with automation or orchestration tools.

Exposure to cloud monitoring or hybrid environments.
