Job SummaryThe Avaya Certified Implementation Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and supporting Avaya telephony and unified communication systems for enterprise clients. This role requires hands-on expertise with Avaya Aura, IP Office, Session Manager, Communication Manager, and related contact center solutions. The engineer will collaborate with pre-sales, network, and operations teams to ensure seamless voice and unified communication deployments that meet client requirements and performance standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Implementation & Configuration
- Install, configure, and integrate Avaya IP Telephony solutions including Aura Communication Manager, Session Manager, System Manager, Messaging, Experience Portal, and Contact Center Elite.
- Deploy Avaya IP Office systems for SMB clients.
- Set up SIP trunks, VoIP gateways, media servers, and Avaya endpoints (J-series, 96xx).
- Configure call routing, extensions, hunt groups, and voicemail systems.
- Implement call recording, IVR, and reporting solutions.
- Integration & Network Coordination
- Integrate Avaya systems with Microsoft Teams, Cisco networks, SIP carriers, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Zoho.
- Collaborate with LAN / WAN teams to ensure QoS, VLAN tagging, and VoIP readiness.
- Testing & Troubleshooting
- Conduct functional, failover, and load testing.
- Troubleshoot issues related to SIP signaling, call quality, and system performance.
- Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for ongoing telephony operations.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) and As-Built documentation.
- Maintain version control, backups, and patch management for Avaya systems.
- Submit project completion reports and system handover documentation to support teams.
- Client & Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with vendors, project managers, and clients for smooth deployment.
- Train internal IT staff or client teams on Avaya system operation and maintenance.
- Required Certifications & Skills
- Certifications :
- Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS) – e.g., for Avaya Aura or IP Office Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS) – preferred
- Technical Skills :
- Strong hands-on experience with Avaya Aura, IP Office, CM, SMGR, SM, SBC, AES Knowledge of SIP, RTP, QoS, and IP networking Familiar with Linux, Windows Server, and VMware environments
- Soft Skills :
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team
- Experience :
- 3–8 years of experience implementing or supporting Avaya telephony solutions
- Preferred Knowledge
- Avaya Contact Center Elite / Oceana Suite
- Avaya IX Messaging / Aura Messaging
- Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC) configuration
- Integration with SIP trunk providers and SBCs (Audio Codes, Ribbon, etc.)
- Familiarity with Avaya SAL and System Manager logs

ACIS (Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist) certification – Avaya IP Office™ Platform - 78200X - SMB telephony & UC deployment
