Manager, Software Development Engineering Introduction to team

Content group team owns products and services that handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data, in the form of text and media, converting it to content that helps travelers pick the best property, be it a hotel or a vacation rental. These are exciting times for this team as we are preparing our product lines for global expansion and laying the foundation for Expedia's future. We optimize signals to improve the display of accurate, relevant & personalized information for Property, Destination Content, Geography / Maps, and Reviews. The Manager would be joining the Content Reviews group, with a charter to help with enhancing the reviews platform, making sure Expedia helps our customers find the perfect place and wake up happy is an exciting mission for our technology teams.

EG is seeking an Engineering manager to work in a dynamic, agile environment. This role will have leadership, delivery, and technical responsibility for our Content Reviews engineering group with a team focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions related to helping our customers to shop and book lodging property.

In this role, you will :

• Lead the design and implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high-quality, clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack
• Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and other partners to build and ship outstanding software in a fast-paced environment
• Find opportunities for process and technology improvements, and work towards adoption and implementation
• Assist with supporting Production systems (includes investigating issues and working towards resolution)
• Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions to a given problem removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure
• Create / update documentation for the purpose of sharing knowledge between team members
• Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique the work of self and others
• Participate in user story creation in partnership with the team(s)
• You will resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur with help from peers or managers. Follow through on details and drive issues to closure
