Junior DevOps Engineer

Location : On-site – Mumbai

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that supports our applications and development workflows. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to automate processes, enhance system reliability, and ensure smooth deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities :

Assist in building and maintaining CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)

Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Implement basic automation using shell scripts, Python, or other scripting languages

Work with containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

Monitor application performance and assist in troubleshooting issues

Help improve system reliability, scalability, and security

Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and tools

Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations teams to streamline releases

Participate in on-call rotations as needed (under senior guidance)

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Basic understanding of Linux / Unix systems

Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Experience with version control, especially Git

Knowledge of CI / CD concepts

Exposure to Docker or containerization

Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)

Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, load balancing)

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)

Knowledge of security best practices

Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL)

Soft Skills :

Strong problem-solving abilities

Good communication and teamwork skills

Detail-oriented with a passion for automation

Ability to follow guidance while gradually taking ownership of tasks
