Innit Marketing is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly passionate Video Content Editor to lead content development for our UK-based media clients. This role is perfect for a strategic storyteller passionate about transforming existing videos of complex subjects like entertainment, history, politics, and world news into compelling, high-retention video content (youtube shorts, Instagram reels, TikTok) for global audiences.
Overview
You will be responsible for the end-to-end creation and optimisation of video content across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. A deep understanding of platform policies, monetisation rules, and copyright compliance is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy & Creation : Conceptualise, script, and produce engaging long-form YouTube videos and short-form social content (Reels, Shorts) in multiple niches (History, Politics, World Trade, News, etc) using existing popular content online.
- Editing & Production : Execute expert-level video editing to ensure high quality, fast-paced retention, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Monetisation & Compliance : Maintain absolute adherence to YouTube and Instagram community guidelines, copyright laws, and monetisation policies to prevent channel flags or demonetisation issues.
- SEO & Optimisation : Conduct keyword research and write SEO-optimised titles, descriptions, and tags to maximise organic reach and discoverability on YouTube.
- Visual Strategy : Design high-impact thumbnails, find catchy clips scrapped from different content creators and visual assets to increase click-through rates (CTR) and overall content performance on each channel.
Requirements (Must-Haves)
Experience : Proven, hands-on experience in creating, editing, and growing content for high-growth YouTube channels and Instagram.Niche Knowledge : A genuine interest in and ability to research complex topics like history, current affairs, politics, world trade and more.Language Proficiency : Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are non-negotiable, suitable for a UK and US audience.Platform Mastery : In-depth knowledge of the technical specifications, algorithms, and policies of YouTube and Instagram, especially concerning monetisation.Technical Proficiency
Expert proficiency in professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).Strong graphic design skills for creating engaging thumbnails and on-screen graphics (Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator).Ability to structure compelling video narratives and scripts for high audience retention.Ability to find highly popular content and repurpose it in short-form videos to drive organic reach.Compensation & Work Model
