Senior Python Developer

Job Title : Senior Python Developer (5–6 Years Experience)Location : RemoteAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer who can design, build, and optimise scalable backend systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable features and ensure best practices across the development lifecycle. This role requires strong ownership, architectural thinking, and the ability to mentor junior team members.If you’re passionate about clean architecture, backend performance, and building efficient systems that scale, we’d love to have you on board.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable backend services using Python and modern frameworks.Architect, implement, and optimise APIs (REST / gRPC / WebSockets) for high performance.Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, design schemas, optimise queries, and ensure data integrity.Integrate external systems, third-party APIs, and internal microservices.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry standards.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring reliability and uptime.Collaborate with DevOps to support CI / CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments.Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and enforce engineering best practices.Work closely with product managers and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions.Contribute to scaling, performance tuning, and system design improvements.Required Skills and Experience5–6 years of hands-on Python development experience in production environments.Strong expertise with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.Proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and experience with NoSQL (MongoDB / Redis) is a plus.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).Familiarity with messaging / queue systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS).Strong problem-solving skills and experience with asynchronous programming.Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.Proficient understanding of Git, branching strategies, and version control best practices.Ability to design scalable architectures, identify bottlenecks, and optimise performance.Strong communication skills and experience working in agile environments.Preferred QualificationsExperience with task schedulers like Celery, RQ, or similar.Knowledge of event-driven architectures.Familiarity with API Gateway concepts and authentication / authorisation techniques.Experience working with CI / CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
