About the Company

Laljee Godhoo & Co., founded in 1894, is a premium producer and manufacturer of asafoetida, with facilities in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kumbakonam. The company offers asafoetida in lump and powdered form in unique packaging, catering to the domestic market and supplying to countries like USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

About the Role

Maintaining a team of 130 Plus workforce

Know how about the process of spice or handling of equipment such as pulverizer / hammer mill, sigma mixer, planetary mixer, cyclone filter, etc

Implementing hygiene factors and ensuring effective implementation of the same

Coordinating with a team of QA, Maintenance, Stores and Logistics for the smooth operation of the plant

Attending audit of food safety department (fssai) and FDA as well

Ensure machine uptime is up to 95 %

Ensure the implementation of ISO 22000 / food safety management system (FSMS) or HACCP principles

Ensure proper stock reconciliation of the material

Liaison with external sources of statutory & and regulatory departments. Also with OEM, Original equipment manufacturers

On-time closing of any Non-conformity report arising from the QA department

Daily circulate MIS (Management Information Report) to top management

Directly reporting to Partners

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Bsc / Msc Food Technology or B.Tech Food Technology

Having 10 to 15 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, especially the spices and condiments industry

Experience in Sensory Evaluation, Food Technology, and Laboratory Skills

Ability to develop and implement Quality Control procedures

Experience in Research and Development (R&D) within the food manufacturing industry

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of food regulations and compliance standards is a plus

Experience with HPLC and GC analysis is a plus

ISO 22000 / Food Safety Management knowledge is preferable
