Job descriptionOwn the entire product development cycle —from initial concept to final deployment. Ideate and generate innovative product concepts based on user (Armed Forces) inputs. Design, develop, and refine mechanical systems and components for advanced defence products. Conduct experimental design and create rapid prototypes for testing and validation. Perform rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to ensure performance, durability, and safety compliance. Research and apply cutting-edge materials , manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies to optimize designs. Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and simulations using CAD and FEA tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration. 2–5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development, preferably in defence or related industries. Expertise in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360 ) and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB ). Strong knowledge of materials science, tolerances, and manufacturing processes like machining, casting, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication. Proven experience in experimental prototyping and conducting rigorous tests to validate designs. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach. Demonstrated ability to own projects and take responsibility for delivering results under tight deadlines. Experience with defence systems or similar mission-critical products. Knowledge of mechanical-electrical system integration (e.g., actuators, sensors, motors). Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
