SOURCING ANALYST
Key Purpose Statement
The Sourcing Analyst works in cooperation with the Regional and Country Category Teams, supports the development and execution of category practices, including support of sourcing strategy definition and deployment. The Sourcing Analyst provides analysis and insightsto the Category Teams. He / She supportsthe sourcing activities by undertaking deep research, analysis and business modelling. In addition the Sourcing Analyst works together with the Category Teams to consolidate local requirements; supports the Category Team duringthe sourcing execution with e-Sourcing servicesand provides visibility to compliance and performance by creating and analysing procurement related reports.
Key Responsibilities
The Sourcing Analyst is generally responsible for conducting market intelligence and analytics support, reporting, and execution of e-Sourcing events. Dependent on setup of the Procurement Centre, specialisation of selected resources in single areas can occur.
Market Intelligence
- Support Category Managersin developing category strategies and execution of sourcing projects by :
- Collecting dataand conducting analysison external factorssuch as industry and market dynamics,and
- products / services trends
- Performing supplier analysis, including financial stability, sustainability, certifications and production capabilities (goods / services, quality levels, etc.)
- Support the commodity team with risk analytics
Analytics Support
Support Category Managersin developing categorystrategies and execution of sourcing projectsCollect data and conduct analysis on internal factors such as spend and customer requirements, using available and defined sources of informationDevelop and perform calculations on industry and supplier cost mcidels, as well as total cost of ownership modelsDevelop sensitivity / scenariomodels to identifycritical variables impactingtotal cost of ownershipProvide analytical support during the supplier screeningand supplier selectionprocessAssist in the development of Rix by defining potential supplier lists, incl. pre-qualification inquiriesPrepare fact-based negotiation packages, supporting the Category Management team in the negotiation processManage knowledgeSecure knowledge transfer and exchange by storing and maintaining (analytical) project deliverables and templates in the knowledge repositoriesActively scan research databases, and communicate category specific news and trends to internal stakeholdersBusiness Modelling and Value Engineering project supportAsa part of a cross functional team support Category Managers in the strategy development and Value Engineering Project executionSupport data collection and analysis to identify and deliver projects that target technical(e.g. specifications engineering and standardisation)-and process (e.g. supply chain optimisation) value levers
Provide data input to lean and six sigma deliverables and driverelated analytics activitiesKnowledge and Experience Required
Academic background : Ideally a graduate / engineer with MBA., _t"'
Experience : 5 years generalbusiness experience thereof1-2 years as Analyst. Preferably experience withany data warehouse / reportingtools in a global environment and in statistics.
Language skills : Proficiency in English essential
