Job descriptionCommitment to high-quality delivery and uncompromising operations Develop data products, platforms, and services that fully enable all customers of the data ecosystem to deliver the business strategy and performance objectives, unleashing the full power of data for their business Successfully manage an engaged and sophisticated set of business and technology customers who possess a strong understanding of and high expectations regarding data As a transformational leader, recruit, nurture and retain top talent, building a world-class engineering team within the Card technology organization Serve as an inspiring role model, a leader the team wants to emulate Motivate a highly talented next level of leaders, ensuring succession as well as their own people development objectives Drive the team to understand, challenge and improve the technologies through which Capital One leverages data and predictive analytics Establish a trusted, close touch relationship with divisional data leaders Strategic orientation proven capabilities around defining and implementing roadmaps in an incremental way to support business goals Intellectually curious; interested in understanding and experimenting with new leading-edge technologies and a desire to continually learn Ability to establish credibility with, as well as motivate and mentor, highly technical engineers Results orientation - Proven track record of removing obstacles and influencing senior-level executive stakeholders across divisions and lines of business to achieve results Exceptional leadership skills, marked by poise, positive influence, and the ability to drive change A management style that is collaborative, energetic, results-oriented, and innovative Bachelor s Degree At least 15 years of experience in technical roles including data architecture, data engineering, software engineering, or data strategy and operations. At least 15 years of experience within a large data-intensive multi-line business environment with significant complexity and scale. At least 5 years of experience in technology leadership or managing people Master s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Computer Science or Business Administration 16+ years of experience in technical roles including data architecture, data engineering, software engineering, or data strategy and operations. 12+ years of experience within a large, data-intensive environment with significant complexity and scale 7+ years of experience in executive technology leadership roles in an agile environment leading medium to large sized engineering teams 5+ years of experience in a cloud environment 2+ years of experience managing the tech strategy for an organization s flagship product Built modern data stacks from the ground up and managed them in production at scale Strong technical proficiency; well versed in public-cloud technologies, full stack software development, AWS services, technologies suited for data consumption, management and governance, tokenization, as well as machine learning techniques, or other comparable technologies Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Key Accountabilities :
- Serve as a change agent, driving our data strategy and capabilities forward to deliver trusted, well managed quality data experiences for all data stewards and stakeholders
- Focus on building leading-edge capabilities in support of ensuring world-class experiences for data producers and consumers with enterprise platforms
- Partner with Product and Design teams to strategize and build leading technology solutions Stay abreast of emerging technologies and market trends in data, applying learnings to improve our business and customer experience
- Drive a forward-looking data strategy that can realize long-term and commercial objectives Lead a large data organization
- Provide superior delivery management and accountability, leading delivery teams in India partnering closely with the US teams
- Continue to recruit and develop top engineering data talent
