About the Role

Workday is seeking a versatile Accounting Manager to join our team to build and lead the international statutory compliance shared services team for EMEA and APJ region. As Manager of the International Accounting team, you will be primarily focused on building out statutory operations, the annual financial close process and other compliance obligations

Review and approval of annual statutory trial balances and financial statements for several international entities in line with internal work processes.

Drive process improvements and technology implementations to streamline accounting operations and enhance efficiency.

Oversight and implementation of the Financial Controllership Model to include review of Legal Entity level flux analysis and statutory reconciliations

Demonstrate manager level knowledge and experience across international accounting standards including US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP, supporting the team on key technical accounting matters and material transactions

Oversight and management of audit team engagement and other vendor engagements to ensure timely and accurate compliance for several international entities

Represent the International Accounting team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop & continually improve processes & systems for both financial and statutory reporting

Collaborate with the leadership team in Ireland and the US to deliver on organizational strategic goals

Support hiring and developing a high performing team of finance professionals

Provide guidance and support to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

About You

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or CPA is highly desired.

5+ years of progressive post-qualified experience or equivalent in accounting and finance roles

2+ years in a managerial capability

Experience working in a multinational company or tech industry is preferred.

Other Qualifications :

High proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce, and experience using Workday and Workiva are a plus

Proficient and comfortable with technical accounting and interpretation across US GAAP, IFRS and global reporting

Proven track record for creating and fostering team growth and efficiencies

The ideal candidate is a great communicator (written and verbal) - need to communicate with all levels of the business

Team player who creates and maintains positive and effective working relationships

Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on a high-level overview

Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to multitask, plan and prioritise work schedules and work within agreed timescales

Comfortable leading a cohesive team of finance professionals and will need to be able to drive to achieving the team’s goals while managing individual responsibilities

Ability to adapt to rapid business and organisational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
