The Role
you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
Role Overview : -
The Legal Counsel will be a mid-level lawyer with 4–9 years of post-qualification experience, supporting the EMEA Legal team in delivering high-quality legal services across proposals, project execution, and strategic initiatives. This role is designed for professionals ready to take ownership of complex contract reviews, negotiations, and advisory work, while contributing to the development of AI-enhanced legal tools.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with in-house and external counsel, as well as cross-functional business teams, on a variety of legal matters. Preference will be given to candidates with at least 5 years of experience in engineering contracts and related commercial agreements within the EMEA region. This role is based in or around Mumbai, India.
To provide legal services and support to Worley group companies, ensuring their legal needs, obligations, and rights are protected and serviced. Experience in EMEA, including the UK, is preferred.
Key Responsibilities : -
Draft, review, and negotiate client contracts, joint venture / teaming arrangements, alliances, and corporate structures to minimize external legal spend and facilitate Worley’s ability to secure work.
Draft and negotiate confidentiality undertakings, parent company guarantees, and bank guarantees.
Advise on a broad range of legal and commercial issues, including risk assessment, governance, and compliance.
Support project teams during both opportunity and execution phases, including change management and dispute resolution.
Collaborate with SAGCs, Regional and Strategic General Counsels, and Legal Centers of Excellence to manage legal risk and support business outcomes.
Contribute to the development and refinement of AI based legal tools, templates, and training materials.
Informally mentor junior legal team members and share knowledge across the team.

About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes :
Qualified legal practitioner with an LLB degree; admitted as a Solicitor / Attorney.
5–9 years post-graduation experience, ideally a mix of private practice and in-house corporate law.
Strong background in commercial and contract law, particularly in engineering or similar services.
Familiarity with laws across EMEA is preferred.
Experience with legal systems, technology tools, and AI is an advantage.
