About the team

At its core, Stripe is a treasury company. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to build a new Treasury Operations team within Treasury Finance. Treasury Finance is inextricably intertwined with Stripe’s products; in order to continue to build novel and powerful products for our users, our own treasury capabilities, systems, and operations must be excellent.

Treasury Operations is integral to the strategy, execution and support of many Treasury Finance’s core functionalities (cash management, investment management, payments processing, risk management and compliance). This role will reside within our Liquidity Management team and work closely with our Capital Markets and Capital Financial Risk Management teams.

What you’ll do

In addition to daily operational support of the Treasury Finance functions, you will also help drive the transformation towards more efficient and automated processes helping to build tools to create operational efficiency and excellence for each aspect of Treasury Operations. You will also help to develop metrics and ensure we’re continuously improving our processes and systems to support new products, supporting the goal of a world-class Treasury Operations function.

You will :

  • Help manage daily operations relating to cash management and funding needs, FX and interest rate trading support, and bank partner relationship management in market
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of excellence and ongoing learning
  • Support governance and analysis pertaining to our investment portfolios and interest income earning
  • Focus on continuous improvements of Treasury Finance processes striving for operational efficiency and excellence
  • Liaise with audit, risk and compliance team to ensure adherence to internal and external controls and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement Treasury Finance policies, procedures, risk assessment and controls across a number of operational functions
  • Iterate on metrics in partnership with Data Science to provide observability of our daily operational processes
  • Analyze and optimize funds flows across a number of areas including costs, working capital, liquidity risk, and other constraints

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of Treasury experience, preferably within liquidity management, finance, risk management or operations.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and growing a team.
  • Experience of daily treasury operations, including cash management, trade execution, forecasting and systems integration.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships.
  • Fast learner, with exceptional attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and navigate a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. You enjoy “rolling up your sleeves” to dive into the details of a complex problem to come up with scalable solutions.
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand how things work and how they could be optimized to work at scale.
  • An ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, evolving environment, which requires the flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the payments industry and fintech landscape
  • Familiarity with regulations that pertain to the payments and financial services industries
  • Experience with SQL, R, or equivalent.
  • In-office expectations

    Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengalaru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
