A Big 4 company is hiring for the role of Sr. Manager, Merger & Acquisition Tax. A career within Mergers and Acquisitions Tax provides the opportunity to help clients leverage M&A Tax solutions to enhance their business outcomes. You will contribute to a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and due diligence while collaborating with a team of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Client Engagement and Delivery :
  • Manage client relationships and ensure end-to-end execution of deliverables with a focus on quality and timeliness.
  • Provide advisory services on mergers, demergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, inbound and outbound structuring, and family arrangements.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence for targets and transactions.
  • Collaborate with other advisors and professionals to deliver seamless client solutions.
  • Regulatory and Government Interactions :
  • Handle interactions with government authorities and address compliance requirements.
  • Provide insights into regulatory frameworks, including Direct Tax, Corporate Laws, Stamp Duty, FEMA, and SEBI regulations.
  • Business Development :
  • Identify business opportunities within existing and prospective client accounts.
  • Support partners and directors in developing strategies for client acquisition and retention.
  • People Management :
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Allocate resources effectively to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Reporting and MIS :
  • Prepare and manage MIS reports to track project progress and key metrics.
  • Provide updates to senior leadership on engagements and business development initiatives.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

  • Educational Qualification :
  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or LLB with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in M&A Tax.
  • Technical Expertise :
  • In-depth knowledge of Direct Tax, Corporate Laws, Stamp Duty, FEMA, and SEBI regulations.
  • Proven track record in handling mergers, demergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring.
  • Key Competencies :
  • Excellent client management and business development skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and report writing.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ownership and responsibility of delegated tasks and client deliverables.
  • Strong commercial and financial market awareness.
  • Leadership & Collaboration :
  • Effective people management and team mentoring capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams within and outside the organization.
