Description : Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow CMDB Lead / Developer to configure, maintain, and optimize the ServiceNow Discovery application and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB data and involves deep collaboration with Compute, Network, and Security teams to facilitate seamless data population and integration. The ideal candidate will be proactive, focused on resolving discovery errors, and capable of driving improvements to the Discovery solution.
Key Responsibilities :
- Discovery Management : Configure and maintain the Discovery Application.
- CMDB Population : Work closely with the Configuration Manager to assure proper population of the CMDB.
- Integration & Access : Interface with Compute, Network, and Security teams to ensure correct access and permissions for Discovery processes.
- Error Resolution : Take ownership of resolving discovery errors specifically related to permissions and access issues.
- Job Monitoring : Assure the successful and timely completion of all scheduled discovery jobs.
- Maintenance & Updates : Add new schedules, IP ranges, and credentials for new devices and environments.
- Platform Upgrades : Assist in the validation and testing of Discovery immediately following system upgrades.
- Solution Improvement : Review the environment for changes and new requirements that may drive changes and improvements to the Discovery solution.
- Store Management : Assure monthly downloads from the ServiceNow store occur for CMDB Classes and Discovery patterns.
- Third-Party Integration : Implement integrations with 3rd party discovery tools, such as Logic Monitor.
- Support & Communication : Provide timely resolution to systems problems and develop effective working relationships with other internal departments, groups, managers, and vendors.
Required Technical Skills & Competencies (Must-Have) :
Proven experience as a ServiceNow CMDB Lead / Sr. Developer.Expertise in configuring and maintaining the ServiceNow Discovery Application.Strong background in CMDB data population and assurance processes.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex discovery access and permission errors.Experience integrating ServiceNow Discovery with other systems and 3rd party tools (e.g., Logic Monitor).Behavioral Competencies :
