Senior Backup and Recovery Engineer

Role : Senior Commvault Engineer – Infrastructure & Data Protection

Location : Bangalore

Working schedule : 12pm-9pm IST / on call support 24 / 7

Working Model : Hybrid

Intro :

We are seeking a Senior Commvault Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience who operates at a level of mastery that leaves Commvault support engineers in awe. This role is for someone who thrives in complex environments, understands systems and networks at a granular level, and can architect and troubleshoot backup solutions with surgical precision.

You’ll be the go-to expert for all things Commvault, with deep knowledge of Windows Server and RHEL , networking , routing , and firewall configurations , and a strong grasp of automation using Ansible .

Some of the things you'll be doing :

• Architect, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade Commvault backup and recovery solutions across physical and virtual infrastructures.
• Act as the highest-level escalation point for Commvault-related issues, often resolving challenges faster and more effectively than vendor support.
• Design and optimize backup policies, storage targets, deduplication strategies, and disaster recovery workflows.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across OS layers (Windows / RHEL), storage subsystems, and network paths to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to align backup strategies with business continuity goals.
• Lead Commvault upgrades, patching, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and automation scripts for backup operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership across the organization.
