Role : Backup Administrator L1

Location : Navi Mumbai

Role Summary

The Backup Administrator L1 is responsible for the

daily operational execution, monitoring, and first-level incident support

for the enterprise backup infrastructure. This role ensures the successful completion of backup jobs and handles basic restoration requests.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitoring & Reporting :

Execute

Daily backup Job monitoring

and update the Daily Checklist accurately.

Acknowledge and perform initial triage on alerts related to backup failures.

Client & Job Management :

Assist with

NetBackup client installation

and basic backup commissioning tasks.

Perform preparation steps for routine backup types, including

Normal File system

and

VM snapshot backup .

Execute the

Manual SAR cycle operation

as required.

Restoration & Recovery :

Fulfill and execute standard

Data Restoration Requests

(Network Backup).

Perform basic

VM Snapshot Restoration

tasks.

Storage Operations :

Assist with basic storage tasks related to backup copies, including

FS Mounting / Unmounting

and

DG Import / Deport

for BCV (Business Continuance Volume) based backups.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Backup Tool Knowledge :

Basic understanding

of backup tools, specifically

Veritas NetBackup .

Foundational understanding of the backup process flow and its components (daemons).

System Fundamentals :

Basic knowledge of

Server Hardware, Operating Systems (OS) , and their configuration files.

Basic knowledge of

networking concepts

related to backup communication (

General Skills :

Detail-oriented approach for accurate checklist maintenance and reporting.

Strong communication skills for escalating unresolved issues clearly.
