Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time position for a Sports In-charge based in Karjat. The Sports In-charge will oversee and manage all sports and recreation-related activities on campus. Responsibilities include organizing sports events, supervising facility usage, coordinating training programs, supporting students’ recreational needs, and ensuring effective communication between departments. The role also involves addressing customer service aspects, such as managing feedback and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for participants.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory and Training skills to effectively manage teams and organize sports activities for 5-10 years.
  • Recreation expertise to plan and promote diverse sports and wellness programs for students.
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service abilities to interact with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Experience in sports administration, with knowledge of safety protocols for athletic programs.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management (preferred).

Administrative and financial management

  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling practices, games, and team travel.
  • Manage the budget for the sports program, including tracking expenses and seeking revenue generation opportunities.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are controlled and that financial processes and reporting requirements are met.
  • Manage and coordinate electronic information systems.
  • Support students in raising sponsorships for sports events.
  • Develop a robust sports policy to encourage students to take part in intra college events.

    • Staff and program supervision

  • Develop teams for all the major sports and supervise student-athletes and sports team leadership.
  • Work with other university departments, such as student services, estates, and IT.
  • Ensure compliance with university, league, and national regulations.
  • Support the development and training of students in sports.

    • Public relations and outreach

  • Act as a public representative and spokesperson for the sports program.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with student leadership and external partners.
  • Collaborate on marketing efforts, event planning, and fundraising initiatives.

    • Strategic planning and development

  • Develop new programs, fitness / yoga classes, or initiatives to expand offerings.
  • Plan for facilities and space utilization.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop formal processes to address issues.
