You will be based in our Bangalore or Gurugram office as a member of Periscope’s technology team.

You will be a core member of Periscope’s technology team with responsibilities that range from developing and deploying our core enterprise products to ensuring that McKinsey’s craft stays on the leading edge of technology.

In this role, you will be involved in software development projects in a hands-on manner. You will spend about 80% of your time building and improving our deployment scripts and toolsets for cloud based solutions on AWS and Azure platforms. Your expertise will expand into database management, Kubernetes cluster setup and monitoring, performance tuning and continuous delivery domains over time.

You will be an active learner, tinkering with new open source libraries, using unfamiliar technologies without supervision and learning frameworks and approaches. You will also have a strong understanding of key agile engineering practices to guide teams on improvement opportunities in their engineering practices. You will also provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to the other DevOps engineers to improve our organizational capability.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent area
  • 6+ years of experience in technology solutions preferably working with microservice architectures focusing on SaaS delivery models
  • Demonstrate extensive experience working with leading Cloud Providers, particularly AWS and Azure
  • Very strong in Linux systems and a wide range of DevOps tools, including Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD
  • Production grade experience and knowledge of load balancing, network security, standard network protocols (HTTP / s, DNS, etc.)
  • Experience in supporting web front-end and data-intensive applications, including Ingress traffic, REST APIs, Postgres, and ETL workloads
  • Leverage your programming skills in Python or Golang to contribute to development tasks and enhance system functionality
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills, effectively resolving complex issues to ensure uninterrupted system operation
  • Strong experience in automation ensuring to uphold system quality attributes such as performance, scalability, availability, fault-tolerance, security, deployment, and maintainability
  • Exposure to modern monitoring, alerting and logging tools : Elastic, NewRelic, Dynatrace
  • Strong communication skills enable you to effectively convey technical constraints and decisions, fostering alignment and collaboration across all levels
  • The ability to collaborative in an inclusive team environment, where listening, communication, evaluation, and prioritization thrive even in high-pressure, mission-critical situations
