About the Role
The Marine Superintendent shall oversee and coordinate vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. CANDIDATES WITH EXPERIENCE IN OIL TANKER ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Responsibilities
Supervising and coordinating vessel operations, including voyage planning, cargo handling, and scheduling.
Dealing with Charterers Claims and Cargo Issues – Off, spec, issues at terminal during loading and discharging.
Ensure readiness of the vessel for the next cargo including proper Stowage Plan with attention to Segregation / commingling and loading / discharging rotation restrictions, ensure that if necessary tank cleaning operation, de-slopping organization, heating system testing etc.
Following up with the HSE / Tech about any matters which may affect the Safe Operation and safe navigation of the vessels.
Check the status of the certificates monthly. Ensure all statutory, the class and equipment certificates of the vessels up to date and valid.
Monitoring and ensuring that vessels are always in compliance with the requirements of the trade; in respect to carriage of cargo, trading limits, rules and regulations of IMO, OCIMF, ICS, WORLD SCALE, Different Port requirements / regulations, relevant Charter Parties, etc.
Monitoring the status of Vetting Approvals and informing HSE / Vetting for arrangement of SIRE when required.
Ensuring that necessary preparations have been made for the vessels’ third-party inspections and those possible deficiencies and findings are tracked and dealt with in a timely manner.
To ensure vessels are meeting reporting requirements and proper documentation as per ISM, ISPS, OSHAS 18000 & ISO 14001. These require constant monitoring of Drill, ACT and Safety Meeting reports.
Conducting on board ISM, ISPS, MLC, HSSEQ and Navigational Audits inspections, and risk assessments to maintain compliance with national and international regulations.
Guide the vessels on the implementation of new regulations and procedures.
Maintaining Safety Management System (SMS) updates with consistent improvement to produce quality, accuracy, adequate and efficient procedures. Provide and develop constructive new ideas.
Member of the crisis management team.
Investigate incidents as per company procedure.
Participate in Ship / Shore drills, training programs and seminars.
Identify training needs of seaboard personnel and Coordinate with training team.
Trainings implementation of new regulations / procedures and Crew assessments during on board for audits.
Coordinate with manning offices for Reviewing Master / Chief Officers Evaluations and carry out the briefing / debriefing meetings for on-signers and off-signers senior officers.
Approval of HRA Bonus after confirmation from crewing received for pro-rate per day.
Monitor the vessels KPIs, rest hour records.
Monitor weather reports and advise the vessel in routeing.
Participate in Take over and hand over of vessels.
Assist vessel in HRA transit including Arrangement of Armed Guards / AWRP.
Any other tasks allocated by the HSSEQ Manager or Operations Manager.
