About the Job
Export Coordinator – US Shipments
will play a critical role in managing and executing export operations from origin to destination. This position involves working closely with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate handling of export documentation and cargo movements.
The ideal candidate must have solid experience in export operations within the freight forwarding industry, with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
This position is fully remote, working with international clients and internal teams across different time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate export shipments (primarily ocean) from booking to final delivery for US-bound cargo
- Prepare, review, and process export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, HBLs, and SLI
- Ensure timely submission of shipping instructions to carriers and compliance with export regulations
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams to monitor shipment status
- Liaise with customs brokers and ensure all documentation meets US import and export requirements
- Maintain accurate records and updates in the TMS and internal systems
- Track cargo, resolve issues, and proactively communicate delays or exceptions
- Support the billing process by confirming charges and coordinating documentation with the finance team
- Provide regular updates to management and clients on shipment progress and status
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in export operations in the international freight forwarding industryStrong understanding of export procedures, documentation, and US import / export complianceFamiliarity with INCOTERMS, HTS codes, AES filings, and carrier booking processesExperience handling full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) shipmentsExcellent communication and coordination skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote settingProficiency in English (spoken and written)Experience using freight forwarding and shipment tracking systemsPreferred
Experience with shipments from Asia to the USA (especially from China, Vietnam, and India)Knowledge of AMS filing, ISF, and documentation related to US customs clearanceExperience working with major ocean carriers and NVOCCsFamiliarity with CRM and TMS platforms
