Deputy Manager - Supply Chain Management (Demand Planning & Forecasting)
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Deputy Manager - Supply Chain Management (Demand Planning & Forecasting) to lead our demand planning and forecasting function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing accurate forecasts, optimizing inventory, and driving data-based decision-making to ensure product availability and efficient supply chain performance.
Job Description :
- Lead the demand planning and forecasting process, integrating inputs from sales, marketing, finance, and supply teams to develop accurate short-, medium-, and long-term demand plans.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and customer insights to generate reliable statistical forecasts using advanced forecasting models and tools.
- Manage and continuously improve the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process to align demand and supply plans with business objectives.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and bias; perform root-cause analysis on variances and implement corrective actions to improve forecast performance.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply planning teams to ensure inventory optimization, maintaining a balance between service levels and working capital.
- Drive the development of demand scenarios and simulations to support decision-making during new product launches, portfolio changes, and market fluctuations.
- Partner with sales and marketing to incorporate market intelligence, channel insights, and promotional activities into the demand forecast.
- Generate and communicate forecast reports, dashboards, and KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory turns, service level) to leadership.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices and digital tools for demand planning and forecasting.
- Experience with E-commerce, FBA, and B2B planning is preferred.
Required Candidate Profile :
Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, with at least 2-4 years of relevant experience (preferably in FMCG, Consumer Goods, or E-commerce sectors).Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Statistics, or Business Administration; Master's / MBA preferred.Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.(ref : iimjobs.com)
