This position will act as a strategic finance partner to category and operations teams, owning P&L performance and driving profitability across business verticals. The Business Finance Manager will focus on commercial insights, decision-making support, and financial accountability to enable sustainable growth and efficiency in an established e-commerce retail environment.The role requires a strong understanding of business levers such as pricing, promotions, contribution margins, and marketplace commissions. The ideal candidate is commercially sharp, analytically strong, and capable of influencing business outcomes through data-backed & Skills RequiredBusiness Partnership & P&L OwnershipOwn financial performance for assigned categories or business units, including revenue, gross margin, and controllable costs.Partner with category and supply chain teams to evaluate pricing & promotions to maximize profitability.Provide actionable insights and challenge assumptions to drive data-led business decisions.Commercial Strategy & Decision SupportEvaluate new business initiatives, partnerships, and investments through financial modeling and scenario analysis.Support negotiations with brands, vendors, and other partners through financial frameworks and cost-benefit analyses.Drive improvements in unit economics, contribution margins, and category profitability through targeted interventions.Planning, Forecasting & Performance ReviewLead financial planning for assigned business units, ensuring alignment with overall company targets.Conduct monthly performance reviews with category heads to highlight variances, risks, and opportunities.Develop detailed P&L visibility and actionable insights to support business reviews and leadership discussions.Strategic Projects & InsightsPartner with leadership on projects including category expansion, private label development, and process optimization.Perform deep-dive analytics on key growth levers and recommend strategies to improve customer economics and ROI.Process, Controls & AutomationEnsure financial governance and compliance across all business finance processes.Drive automation in category dashboards, reporting, and margin tracking through BI tools such as Power BI, external consultants etc.Collaborate with FP&A teams to align category-level insights with company-wide financial performance.Basic Qualification, Experience and Technical skills :
- Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or CPA preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in Business Finance, Category Finance, or Commercial Finance, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG.
- Proven ability to influence commercial decisions and improve profitability through business partnering.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Strong experience with BI and data visualization tools
