Job Description :
General competencies :
Working as a member of a team and providingQA / QC support for modular / Hydrogen / Callidus / KME / PECS product lines forUOP’s customers in India and worldwide.
The work involves development of inspectionplan for the projects. Carrying out inspections / shop visits during fabricationto ensure implementation and compliance of the inspection plan. Providingtechnical support during procurement of materials, construction / fabrication ofmodules / skids to ensure sound inspection and QA / QC for Pressure Vessels,Rotary equipment’s, Piping, Structural etc.Analyzingand recommending solutions to technical problems in the area of inspection andQA / QC. Providing technical support as needed for proposals, cost estimates anddesign basis data. Develop procedures, standards and tools for inspection andQA / QC executed in various projects.Identifyareas of improvement / gaps in system and recommend required changes.Closeinteraction with suppliers / fabricators to ensure a sound inspection and QA / QCplan for the project.Closeinteraction with external Third Party inspection agencies inspectors forimplementation of the inspection plan.Closecoordination with other engineering disciplines.Travelingabout 20%, for providing technical assistance during setting up of projectinspection plan, and compliance during fabrication of modules and skids inIndia as well as overseas.Ensure tomeet customer satisfaction requirements, including UOP Quality standards andUOP technical standards.Activelyparticipate to ensure that ISO 9001 certification is maintained and performInternal AuditsEnsure toprovide input and participates in Supplier evaluation reviews, projectclose-out reports and subsequent meetings. Act on applicable specialistgroup-related RCA’s (root cause analysis) for CAPA’s (corrective &preventive actions) that come out of these reviews.Follow-upon items and lessons learned for applicable specialization as captured thro’RCA’s for a CAPA, field reports, establish root cause and implement correctiveactions.Manageand address cross departmental issues, including specialist engineering issuesrelated to Equipment integration with other UOP technologies and with other UOPEquipment Offices (International Alignment).Providesdeliverables within budgeted cost and schedule with a high level of quality.Communicates with project manager on a regular basis regarding progress,changes & schedule.Keepsup-to-date with current technology developments in area of expertise and sharesthis knowledge with others, where appropriate through leadership of Communityof Practices.Manageapplicable specialist group-related documentation and work with the Team toimplement the Document Management system to ensure alignment with work process.Support and adhere to corporate HS&Epolicies, in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineeringdesign policies.Domain Specific competencies :

Relevantexperience in Inspection QA / QC for the petroleum refining & petrochemicalindustry.Hands onexperience in developing inspection and QA / QC plans, carrying out qualitysurveys, NDE during fabrication etc; reviewing weld procedure; reviewingconstructability, selecting materials etc.Experiencedin inspection of static, Rotary equipment’s, piping & Structural. To beLevel-II qualified by ASME SNTC -1A or international equivalent in RT, UT, MT,PT & VT.Goodcomputer skills are required. Good communication skills are essential.Experience / Knowledge of inter-disciplinary linkages & interdependencies.Capableof taking independent judgments and critical decisions as required.Understandingof Equipment Design and Fabrication techniques, standards and tools.GoodKnowledge and understanding of ASME Section II, V, VIII, IX, B31.3, AWS D1.1codes / standards.Comprehensive Knowledge and experience of international codes & technicalregulatory / Statutory certifications requireExcellentinterpersonal and communication skills to be used at the International levelwith colleagues worldwide.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical with about 10 years of experienceMaster’s degree may be an asset.Able to communicate effectively in English.
