Job Summary : As a Patent Expert at ORO Labs, you will play a key role in developing and managing the company’s intellectual property (IP) strategy. You’ll be responsible for identifying, drafting, filing, and managing patents globally—ensuring our innovative solutions are well protected and aligned with our business goals.

You will collaborate closely with our product, engineering, and leadership teams to translate complex technical concepts into strong, defensible patent applications. This role requires deep expertise in patent law, exceptional analytical and writing skills, and a proactive mindset to stay ahead of emerging technologies in AI, SaaS, and enterprise software.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop a deep understanding of ORO Labs’ technology and product roadmap to identify and protect key innovations.

Evaluate R&D outputs and perform IP landscape analyses to uncover patentable opportunities and potential risks.

Draft, file, and manage patent applications end-to-end, collaborating with product teams, external counsel, and patent offices.

Maintain a structured IP portfolio, ensuring compliance, renewals, and timely filings across jurisdictions.

Build internal IP awareness programs and streamline invention disclosure and review processes.

Advise leadership on IP strategy, risk mitigation, and portfolio optimization to support business growth and partnerships.

Provide IP insights for due diligence, licensing, and M&A activities while tracking and reporting key patent metrics.

Key Qualifications

Experience : 8+ years of experience in patent law, IP strategy, or patent management within a technology or SaaS company.

Technical Background : Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; strong grasp of AI, ML, or SaaS platforms.

Patent Expertise : Proven experience drafting and prosecuting patents globally (US, EU, APAC).

Legal Credentials : Registered Patent Agent / Attorney (USPTO or equivalent) preferred.

Strategic Mindset : Ability to align IP initiatives with product and business objectives.

Analytical Skills : Deep understanding of patent landscapes, prior art searches, and competitive analysis.

Communication : Exceptional ability to articulate technical concepts to both legal and non-legal audiences.

Collaboration : Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and executive teams.

Tools : Familiarity with patent management software and IP analytics tools.
