Location : Ahmedabad, India

Experience : 1-3 years

Type : Full-Time | In-Office

Reports to : Head of Product Development

What You’ll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer for New Product Development (NPD), you will play a pivotal role in designing, prototyping, and refining cutting-edge kitchen devices and attachments. You'll help take a product from concept to launch , ensuring it is aesthetically pleasing , cost-effective , and manufacturable at scale .

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Industrial Design, Electronics, Culinary, Sourcing) to develop mechanical systems and accessories for upcoming products.
  • Convert conceptual sketches into 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Conduct FEA / CFD simulations (as applicable) and optimize for performance, durability, and safety.
  • Develop BoMs and liaise with suppliers for proto, tooling, and mass production readiness.
  • Rapid prototyping using 3D printing, CNC, sheet metal, or vacuum casting.
  • Support field testing, pilot production, and validation for form, fit, and function.
  • Continuously innovate to reduce cost, part count, and assembly time.
  • Create documentation for patents, regulatory compliance, and production handover.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s a bonus)
  • 1-3 years of experience in appliance, consumer electronics, or kitchen equipment development
  • Strong command over SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
  • Familiarity with materials (plastics, metals, thermal insulation), manufacturing processes, and DFM / DFS
  • Understanding of IP rating, thermal management, safety compliance, and tolerance analysis
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing setups
  • Passionate about food, innovation, and user-centric design

    • Bonus if you have :

  • Worked on cooking / heating appliances or kitchen gadgets
  • Filed or contributed to patents
  • Knowledge of UL / CE / BIS compliance standards
