Job description

WWF-Australia’s current strategic plan includes nature-based solutions (NbS) as a key outcome supporting our goal of regenerating nature by 2030. We have NbS programs in Australia and internationally in Asia-Pacific. These programs are exploring community and First-Nations led approaches to NbS, recognising that Indigenous people and local communities have vast knowledge, experience and wisdom of their ‘places’ and that this can be harnessed to create NbS that are high-integrity, inclusive with potential transformative outcomes for people, nature, and climate

WWF-Australia is seeking a consultant or consultancy firm to lead the delivery of a learning program focused on Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Biocultural Nature-based Solutions (NbS).

The TEK Learning Program aims to :

  • Deepen understanding of the value and benefits of TEK in NbS.
  • Explore the successes and challenges of biocultural NbS compared to standard NbS.
  • Provide guidance for NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders on how to work respectfully and effectively with Indigenous peoples and local communities.
