Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Professor in Microbiology to lead the department, engage in academic teaching, oversee laboratory operations, and promote research and quality in microbiological sciences in compliance with NMC guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide leadership in teaching undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) medical students.
Supervise and manage departmental operations, including teaching schedules, faculty coordination, and lab work.
Guide and mentor Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Junior Residents.
Conduct and promote high-quality research, thesis guidance, and scholarly publications.
Ensure compliance with NMC norms, infection control protocols, and biomedical waste management.
Collaborate with clinical departments for diagnostic microbiology and infection control activities.
Organize and participate in academic activities, CMEs, seminars, and workshops.
Qualifications :
MBBS + MD (Microbiology) from an NMC-recognized institution.
Minimum 8 years of teaching experience , including 3 years as Associate Professor.
Should fulfill all NMC / MCI eligibility norms for the post of Professor.
Must be registered with the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.
Skills & Competencies :
Expertise in bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and immunology
Strong academic, administrative, and leadership skills
Research-oriented with a strong publication record
Excellent communication, mentoring, and team management abilities
Familiarity with NABL / NABH standards and infection control systems
