1. Academic Qualifications :
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical college / institution.
- MD (Anatomy) or MS (Anatomy) from an NMC-recognized institution.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Professor in Anatomy
A. Teaching & Academic Duties
Teach MBBS and allied health students (e.g., BDS, BSc Nursing, Physiotherapy) subjects such as :Gross AnatomyHistologyEmbryologyConduct :Lectures , dissection hall sessions , microscopy labs , and demonstrationsTutorials , small group teaching , and student assessmentsAssist in preparing academic materials, internal assessments, and maintaining teaching logs.B. Laboratory & Practical Responsibilities
Supervise :Cadaver dissections , maintenance of dissection hall hygiene and safety.Histology practicals including slide preparation and microscope use.Help maintain anatomical museum specimens and models.C. Research Involvement
Participate in departmental or interdisciplinary research projects .Assist senior faculty in preparing research papers , proposals, or case studies.Begin contributing to publications and attend CME, conferences, and workshops.D. Departmental & Administrative Support
Help with :Time-table preparationExam invigilation and evaluationRecord keeping and NMC documentationParticipate in departmental events, guest lectures, student outreach, and academic audits.Skills Required
