You will be part of Capital Analytics, the digital products arm of the Capital Excellence service line of McKinsey's Operations practice.
Capital Excellence assists our clients in solving complex challenges throughout the capital project life cycle. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement the best practices for projects, portfolios, organizations, and processes to solve our clients' most critical problems.
Capital Analytics supports Capital Excellence with analytics and data-driven insights delivered to our consultants in client engagements or directly to clients to sustain their transformation. We source data, build data and advanced analytics platforms, as well as develop our own products, or we establish strategic alliances to leverage existing products with the goal of decarbonizing and renewing critical infrastructure globally.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) , you will play a key role in the redesign and modernization of our core internal product, the Capital Analytics (CA) Toolkit—a central platform used across the firm for advanced data search, reporting, and analytical tools.
In this role, you will : lead the development of scalable backend services to power the next-gen search and AI capabilities of the CA Toolkit; collaborate closely with a dedicated frontend engineer and a data platform team to deliver high-performance, maintainable, and secure application features; own and drive the application development workstream—from planning and architecture to delivery and support; design APIs and integration points for both internal and external systems; build with a cloud-first mindset—primarily in Microsoft Azure, but with select components running in AWS; & contribute to technical decisions, mentoring other engineers on best practices in cloud-native architecture, Fullstack development, and AI integration.
In the next 6 months, your focus will be to : build and deploy services that support a revamped search experience, powered by both structured data and LLM-based intelligence; ensure seamless integration of Azure-hosted components (Functions, Web Apps, Data Lake) with external AI models (OpenAI, Bedrock); and influence long-term architecture decisions in a product with high visibility and impact.
