Database Administrator - SQL Server

We are looking for an experienced and proactive MSSQL Database Administrator to join our IT team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and performance tuning of Microsoft SQL Server databases.

The role demands a solid understanding of database architecture, backup / recovery processes, high availability solutions, and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
• Manage database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes.
• Create and manage database objects such as tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Perform database tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application performance and design.
• Monitor and manage SQL jobs, indexes, and disk space to maintain optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain database security (e.g., roles, permissions).
• Generate reports and documentation related to database design, maintenance, and performance.
• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues in a timely Skills & Qualifications :
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as an MSSQL DBA.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2016 / 2019 or higher.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with T-SQL, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with tools such as SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and Activity Monitor.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication Qualifications :
• Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions.
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
