Job Summary :
The Career Counsellor will be responsible for guiding students toward suitable healthcare education programs and career paths. This role involves counselling, admissions support, career guidance, and helping students understand opportunities in the healthcare sector. The counsellor will act as a bridge between students and academic teams to ensure smooth admissions and retention.
Key Responsibilities :
Student Counselling :
Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions for students interested in healthcare and paramedical courses.
Understand students' academic background, career aspirations, and skill sets to recommend suitable programs.
Provide guidance on healthcare career pathways, job roles, and industry growth.
Admissions & Enrollment :
Handle student inquiries through walk-ins, calls, social media, and other channels.
Follow up with prospective students to ensure conversion from inquiry to admission.
Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions, follow-ups, and enrollments.
Outreach & Promotion :
Participate in seminars, school / college visits, and career fairs to promote healthcare courses.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create awareness about healthcare education and career options.
Career Guidance :
Educate students about emerging healthcare job opportunities such as Medical Lab Technician, EMT, Radiology, Nursing, etc.
Conduct sessions on resume writing, interview preparation, and soft skills related to healthcare professions.
Coordination & Reporting :
Coordinate with academic and placement teams to ensure proper student onboarding and support.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly counselling / admission reports to management.
Required Skills and Competencies :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of healthcare and allied education sectors.
Counselling, persuasion, and presentation skills.
Good command of MS Office and CRM tools.
Empathetic listener and goal-oriented professional.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education : Bachelor's degree (preferred in Psychology, Education, Healthcare, or Management).
Experience : 1–3 years in counselling, admissions, or career guidance — preferably in healthcare or vocational education institutes.
Languages : Proficiency in English and regional languages is an advantage.
