About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Technical Architecture Team Lead to head the design and development of a next-generation AI-powered customer service SaaS platform. The platform will offer intelligent chatbot experiences, omnichannel messaging integration (WhatsApp, Web, Social), marketing campaign management, analytics, CRM functionality, third-party integrations, and automation tools.
You will lead the technical vision, design scalable architecture, build the team, and drive full-cycle development from MVP to global launch. This is a strategic leadership role with deep hands-on involvement and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities :
System Architecture & Technology Design :
Design the entire architecture of the platform including frontend, backend, APIs, microservices, and deployment strategies.
Define a secure, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS system with flexibility for future features and modules.
Design and implement the full database schema and relationships (e.g., user management, conversation flows, logs, CRM, campaign data, API logs, etc.).
Select and finalize the complete tech stack : backend, frontend, database, AI services, infrastructure tools.
Feature Planning & Roadmap :
Collaborate directly with the founder / product team to create a phase-wise roadmap from MVP to full-scale launch.
Analyze market leaders (e.g., Chat360.io, Twixor.ai, Verloop.io) and identify must-have and innovative differentiating features.
Propose new features and enhancements based on customer pain points and market gaps.
Define timelines and deliverables for each sprint and milestone.
Team Building & Technical Leadership :
Recruit and manage a team of developers (frontend / backend), DevOps, QA engineers as required.
Distribute tasks, set priorities, and oversee the daily / weekly progress of each team member.
Mentor junior developers and conduct regular code reviews to ensure high-quality output.
Own team velocity and ensure timely and efficient delivery of features and improvements.
Development Oversight & Integrations :
Supervise the development of core modules like chatbot builder, campaign module, automation flow, CRM system, analytics dashboard.
Lead API integration with external systems such as WhatsApp Business API, payment gateways, Google Calendar, email providers, etc.
Ensure the development of modular, reusable components and maintain clean separation of concerns.
Infrastructure, Security & QA :
Set up Git version control, CI / CD pipelines, cloud deployment (AWS / GCP), and monitoring tools.
Apply industry-standard security practices to protect user data and PII.
Implement structured backup & disaster recovery plans.
Lead unit testing, integration testing, and work closely with QA for test coverage and defect tracking.
Documentation & Reporting :
Prepare detailed technical documentation including system diagrams, database schemas, API specifications, and internal guidelines.
Provide regular updates to the founder / stakeholders on progress, risks, and dependencies.
Serve as the technical point of contact for internal and external teams.

Additional Requirements :
Must have prior experience leading similar SaaS or AI-powered customer service platform development projects.
Candidate must present a portfolio or case study of at least one previous project during the interview, showcasing their architecture, development approach, and results.
Applications without relevant past experience in similar platforms will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications :
7+ years of hands-on development experience with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or system architect role.
Strong background in building and scaling SaaS platforms.
Proficient in backend languages like Node.js / Python / TypeScript.
Frontend experience with Vue.js or React.js.
Strong database design skills (MySQL / PostgreSQL + optionally MongoDB / NoSQL).
Familiar with DevOps practices, Docker, GitHub Actions, CI / CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS / GCP).
Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., WhatsApp, Gmail, Stripe, Calendly, Google Sheets).
Familiarity with chatbot frameworks (e.g., Rasa, Dialogflow, OpenAI, or custom NLP workflows) is a strong plus.
