About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior Tandem Developer with deep expertise in HP Non-Stop (Tandem) systems and modern Java technologies. This role involves maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while driving modernization efforts through Java and Spring Boot development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and deploy critical financial applications, especially those involved in wire transfer processing.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications in the HP Non-Stop (Tandem) environment using Guardian, OSS, and related languages.
- Develop, debug, and optimize code using TAL, TACL, SCOBOL, and COBOL as part of legacy system maintenance and enhancement.
- Develop new features and services using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks as part of modernization initiatives.
- Implement and maintain automated test cases using test automation tools to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations teams to deliver robust solutions that meet business needs.
- Support and enhance wire transfer applications, including Fedwire, CHIPS, and SWIFT systems.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and adhere to DevOps practices to improve delivery cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Document technical designs, processes, and code changes for knowledge sharing and audit purposes.
Preferred Technical Skills :
Hands-on development experience in HP Non-Stop (Tandem) systems, specifically with Guardian and OSS operating environments.Proficiency in TAL, TACL, SCOBOL, and COBOL programming languages.Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.Experience with test automation frameworks and writing automated test cases.Familiarity with financial messaging systems such as Fedwire, CHIPS, and SWIFT.Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.Understanding of DevOps tools and processes (CI / CD pipelines, version control, build tools).Ability to analyze and optimize legacy and new code for performance and maintainability.ref : hirist.tech)
