Role Details

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Early Years Leader to join the Xavier College, Two Wells (R-10) campus . This leadership position will commence Term 3 until the end of Term 4 2025.

As Early Years Leader you will :

• Foster and model the Salesian ethos of the College through respectful, faith-filled relationships with students, families, staff, and the wider College community.
• Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning from Reception to Year 2, focusing on early literacy and numeracy development and pedagogy.
• Mentor and guide Early Years teaching staff to ensure curriculum delivery aligns with ACARA and supports diversity of students from Reception to Year 2.
• Monitor and use student data effectively to inform teaching and enhance student outcomes.
• Promote student wellbeing and engagement by supporting positive behaviour strategies, working with families, and developing personal responsibility and wellbeing plans as needed.
• Coordinate Early Years programs and transitions, including preschool visits, orientation, family communications, and support for new students starting school.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of Early Years events and routines, such as excursions, Book Week, Sports Day, and assemblies, ensuring smooth operations and strong community engagement.
• Provide effective Catholic leadership that reflects the values of the College.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the Two Wells campus Leadership team.

About You

We are seeking a passionate Early Years educator with demonstrated leadership experience in fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-filled learning environment. You will bring a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy and curriculum and be organised and forward-thinking in your approach. As a collaborative leader, you will mentor and support colleagues to enhance student outcomes. To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with the confidence to manage student wellbeing through proactive restorative practices.
