About the Team & the Position
The Digital Division enables the delivery of AEMO’s obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. Digital provides services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries such as AEMO Services, external government bodies and market participants.
AEMO's Strategy, Architecture & Emerging Technologies (SA&ET) team is responsible for the following core functions :
- The maintenance of AEMO's technology strategy and its alignment with the AEMO business vision, goals, and strategic imperatives to ensure that the IS strategy is maintained / updated as part of company planning processes.
- Establish AI / ML capability at AEMO, including AI platforms and solutions, and data / AI governance.
- The development and evolution of the architecture plans (Business, Cyber Security, Data, Application and Technology and roadmaps) to guide the development of systems and platforms and support AEMO's strategic imperatives.
- Solution architecture, process and business analysis for all business domains to support AEMO’s change agenda and transformation initiatives.
The incumbent in this position, will work closely with the Enterprise Integration Architect, Strategic Domain Architects and Solution architects to support the design and development of Systems of Integration (SOI) solution for a program of work.
Position Responsibilities
Manager – Solution Architecture (Program) for a large-scale Program initiative, in alignment with Enterprise Architecture.Accountable for the development of Conceptual Architecture Design (CAD) and Solution Architecture Design (SAD) – all sectionsLiaise with Enterprise Architecture Teams, and Digital Departments to seek inputs, validate, review the CAD & SADResponsible to coordinate delivery of detailed design and provide consulting and advisory function.Liaise with Integration Enterprise Architect on the product selection, patterns, standards, principles, anti-pattern definitions and provide required inputs as required by the EACoordinate with the Vendor BAs and Vendor Solution ArchitectsCoordinate with Architecture Governance and ensure approval of deliverables at SIDA and ARB.Single point of the Vendor Solution Architects to provide architectural inputs where required. Vendor interface for the development of architectural artefacts.Identify and raise architecture and program level risks and issues. Manage architects from vendors on a day-day basisPosition Requirements
Skills & Experience :
Proven experience in Australian Energy / Utility industryExperience in designing Integration Solutions including Governance. Strong background in enterprise architecture and technology strategy.Experience leading architecture or digital practices in complex environmentsStrong experience with Microservices & Event-driven ArchitectureHighly developed interpersonal and expert communication skills, including consultation, influencing and experience negotiating technology / business / investment outcomes and responsibilities with both business representatives, industry and technology service providers.Experience with POCs, prototyping, and delivering large enterprise-level applicationsAbility to think critically and solve problems. Be a self-starter, demonstrate accountability and leadership.Adept in managing budgets and controlling costsStrong risk awareness and management capabilities.Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education / professional Certifications :
Degree or tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.Professional certifications in relevant technologies, TOGAF or other architecture methodologies is desirableIn return some of our benefits to you
