Overview :
- Work with our Architecture team on next generation System-on-chip (SoC) for Compute, smartphone, IoT and other product categories. Candidate will be involved in architecture and / or microarchitecture of various subsystems and interfaces of the SoC
- We are looking for an experienced leader for high performance SOCs / MCUs, for the SOC Architecture organization working closely with business, product marketing, system architects, SOC design architects and designers, software architects and developers.
Primary Responsibilities :
Define and drive SoC Architecture with strong PPA (Power, Performance, Area) trade-offanalysis.
Lead IP selection and integration strategies for performance-driven designs.Architect and review Mixed Signal Designs and Multi-core Processor Subsystems.Collaborate across RTL to Physical Design teams ensuring sign-off quality deliverables.Coordinate with Physical Design (PD) teams for successful Tapeout activities.Ensure architectural alignment with foundry node requirements (across 28nm, 16nm, 7nm, etc.).Proven expertise in SoC design methodologies and architecture definition.Deep understanding of RTL development, integration, and backend handoff.Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with analog, PD, DFT, and software teams.Exposure to foundry-specific constraints and best practices across technology nodes.Roles and Responsibility :
Work with Hardware and Software teams to understand the design requirements,specification, and interface details.
Validate architecture / microarchitecture models for multiple peripherals, interconnects, andIPs for SoC platforms.
Work with team to integrate these models to the SoC platform and validate IP / System Leveluse cases.
Perform area, power, performance trade-offs and analysis of HW / SW re-usabilityrequirements for IP / Cores and complete SoC.
Develop Specification, system level architecture / micro-architecture of system use-cases,working with cross functional teams.
Have experience working with ARM-based SoC architectures, in-depth understanding ofcomputer architecture fundamentals, the ability to develop complex systems.
SOC Architecture Background, preferably Compute SOC Architecture.Demonstrated ability to collaborate on projects with multiple teams and disciplines.Ability to develop and improve methodologies for experiments and analysis in the specificarea of expertise.
Have the communication and collaboration skills to work with a large world-wide design organization.Experience or Education involving hardware, System architecture and software.Areas of Expertise :
ARM and RISC-V Architecture expertise specifically in areas of Coherency, Signaling, Memory Management, Virtualization, etcDSPs, CPUs (ARM preferred), High and Low Speed peripheralsDDR, Interconnect, System Cache, QOS.Power, Boot, Debug, Security, Access Control Architecture.Power and / or performance analysis, simulation, and modelling.Understanding of VLSI flow from spec to tape out with proficiency in digital design, HDL languages, Scripting languages is preferred.Skills :
Drive Architecture that will define the SOC / MCU architecture and detailed technical specifications from product requirements provided by business and product marketing organizations.Define-Own-Deliver the chip implementation that meet KPI & product requirement, including the specification compliance ensuring coverage from verification, validation, characterization and test.Experience leading advanced automotive high performance SOCs / vehicle computers / SDVs / MCUs highly desired.Drive paradigm shifts in SOC / MCU execution including team structures, tool usage, methods, processes for high quality tape-out.IP selection and make / buy decisions are a key factor for this role.Need to work with peers across the business to drive change throughout Renesas to have common methods that work across the whole organization in partnership and collaboration with stakeholders and influence the direction taken.Role will involve external stakeholder engagement such as : supplier management, technical conference participation, technical standards engagement / awareness.Involve training program definition and roll out, lessons learned proliferation and best practice sharingref : hirist.tech)
