Purchase Manager (KGISL SEZ, Sarvanampatti)

  • BE-Civil
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience :

6-10 years of experience in the Construction field or related field.

Salary :

50 k 60 K / Month (Negotiable for the right candidate)

Key Responsibilities :

Procurement Strategy & Planning :

Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.

Supplier Management :

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong working relationships. Ensure that suppliers meet quality standards and delivery timelines.

Purchasing & Order Management :

Review purchase requisitions, prepare and issue purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of ordered items. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.

Cost Control & Budgeting :

Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities to reduce spending while maintaining quality. Work within budget limits and suggest improvements for cost-saving initiatives.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination :

Collaborate with inventory and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock management and distribution. Track inventory levels and reorder supplies when necessary.

Vendor Performance & Compliance :

Evaluate vendor performance regularly based on delivery times, product quality, and pricing. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and environmental standards.

Market Research :

Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new suppliers. Identify and evaluate new opportunities to improve the purchasing process and reduce costs.

Reporting & Documentation :

Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost analysis, and inventory levels to senior management. Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, production, and operations) to understand their needs and ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.

Team Management :

Supervise and mentor a team of purchasing assistants or coordinators. Provide training and guidance on best practices and processes in procurement.

Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Manager in the Construction field or related field.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage a team.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management best practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in Purchasing Management (e.g., CPM, CIPS) is a plus.
  • Experience in specific industry sectors (e.g., setting of IT Campus) may be beneficial.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Office-based with occasional visits to suppliers and warehouses.
  • Full-time position with standard working hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required for vendor meetings or sourcing activities.
