Senior product manager - upi

Role Overview Our client is launching a new UPI line of business and is looking for a Senior Product Manager with deep expertise in the UPI ecosystem. The role involves owning product strategy, roadmap, and execution across consumer and merchant payment flows.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the UPI product roadmap (P2 P, P2 M, Autopay, mandates, collect).

Lead integrations with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, and manage NPCI certification.

Drive execution across onboarding, device binding, payments, refunds, and dispute flows.

Improve reliability, success rates, and overall payment experience using data insights.

Ensure compliance with NPCI guidelines, RBI directives, and risk controls.

Partner with engineering, design, risk, and operations for high-quality delivery.

Coordinate with risk, fraud, compliance, and legal teams to design safe and scalable payment journeys.

Work with merchant teams to build P2 M flows, settlement journeys, and dispute resolution processes.

Identify ecosystem gaps and propose innovative UPI value-added features (Lite, Credit on UPI, mandates).

Requirements

5–10 years of product management experience; strong hands-on exposure to UPI.

Deep understanding of NPCI frameworks, UPI APIs, bank integrations, and certification processes.

Strong product thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

Experience scaling high-volume, real-time payment products is a plus.
