About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Model-Based Systems Engineer with expertise in IBM Rhapsody to lead systems modeling and traceability within complex product development programs. This is an onsite role in Bangalore, ideal for engineers with deep experience in SysML / UML modeling, MBSE frameworks, and integration across the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) toolchain. The ideal candidate brings not just tool knowledge but also strong engineering thinking, documentation discipline, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Model Design & Maintenance
- Develop, refine, and maintain system architecture models using IBM Rhapsody
- Apply best practices in SysML / UML to represent functional, behavioral, and structural aspects
- Drive consistency, clarity, and completeness in models through defined guidelines and review cycles
Requirements Traceability
Ensure full bidirectional traceability between system models and requirements in DOORS NextCollaborate with EWM and ETM teams to align modeling outputs with work item tracking and test coverageValidate traceability completeness for compliance and review milestonesWorkflow Integration & Technical Enablement
Integrate Rhapsody with the broader ELM tool ecosystem using OSLC links and standard interfacesProvide guidance on model versioning, configuration, and reuse strategiesConduct training, workshops, and hands-on coaching sessions for engineering teams adopting RhapsodyDocumentation & Compliance
Maintain architecture design documents and modeling process guidelinesSupport delivery of engineering artifacts aligned to MBSE and product governance standardsDocument lessons learned, modeling decisions, and tool configurations in internal repositoriesKey Skills & Requirements
5+ years of experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using IBM RhapsodyStrong command of SysML, UML, and model structuring techniques for embedded or systems designProven track record in maintaining traceability between models and requirements (DOORS Next or equivalent)Understanding of the full ELM suite, including how modeling fits within lifecycle workflowsExcellent problem-solving, presentation, and documentation skillsHands-on scripting experience (JavaScript, Perl, or similar) for model automation or customization is a plusPreferred Qualifications
Experience working in regulated domains such as automotive, defense, or aerospaceFamiliarity with Global Configuration Management (GC) and versioned model assetsPrior exposure to integrating Rhapsody with simulation tools such as Simulink or MATLABWorking knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 26262, ARP4754A, ASPICE)Why Join CMEx?
