Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
1. Leadership and Management :
- Lead and manage a team of data scientists, AI specialists, data engineers & BI developers
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members
- Orchestrate C-Level initiatives and make sure all strategic initiatives are aligned and coordinated
- Regularly reviews progress and performance expectations with leadership teams across the organization, providing expectations, performance planning, feedback, training & development, and performance discussions.
- Plan and execute country roll out and implementation of strategic initiatives
- Mentors, Coaches, and trains employees at various levels throughout the company.
- Lead by example in New-Ways-of-Working in line with Metro guiding principles
2. Strategic Planning :
Develop and execute a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with the company’s objectivesIdentify opportunities for leveraging data and AI to drive business valueDefine and implement a strategic roadmap for the CoE, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives to maximize the impact of data and AIEstablish a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Data and AI to drive best practices, foster innovation, and ensure the highest standards of quality across all data and AI initiativesCollaborate with senior leadership to integrate data and AI initiatives into the overall business strategyCollaborate with Leadership at global Metro AG sites, conduct workshops to identify critical to business problems and convert them into projects3. Project Management :
End to end accountability from concept design of a business transformation (Data and AI Projects) to implementationEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetManage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle4.Technical Expertise :
Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologiesProvide technical guidance and support to the teamEvaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance data and AI capabilitiesGovernance and Compliance :
Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practicesEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and standardsPromote data quality and integrity across the organizationQualifications
1. Experience :
12+ years of experience in data science, artificial intelligence, or related fieldsProven experience in managing and leading data and AI teamsDemonstrated success in delivering complex data and AI projects2. Educational Qualification :
Minimum Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline is preferredGraduate and Postgraduates3. Technical Skills :
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQLExperience with AI / ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similarStrong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies (, Hadoop, Spark)Strong understanding of cloud platform and org level implementation expertise4. Soft Skills :
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
