Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced and certified Appian Lead Developer to design, develop, and lead Appian-based business process management (BPM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of Appian development experience and at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity. This role requires strong hands-on skills in SAIL, process modeling, and system integrations, along with excellent problem-solving and client-facing abilities. Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the design and development of complex Appian applications and BPM workflows.
  • Guide and mentor team members in Appian development best practices.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement Appian SAIL interfaces, process models, records, expression rules, and data types.
  • Integrate Appian with external systems using Web APIs, SOAP / REST, RDBMS, and other middleware technologies.
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
  • Optimize application performance and resolve issues related to usability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in deployment planning, production support, and enhancements of existing Appian applications.
  • Ensure adherence to Appian development standards, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Directly interface with clients for requirement gathering, solution demos, and issue resolution.

Required Technical Skills :

Appian Platform :

  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with Appian BPM platform

    • Proficient in Appian components :

  • SAIL interface design
  • Process model creation
  • Record types and reports
  • Custom data types (CDTs)
  • Expression rules and constants

    • Integration & Scripting :

  • Strong experience in developing Appian integrations with REST / SOAP web services
  • Working knowledge of Appian Plug-ins, connected systems, and integration objects
  • Proficiency with Appian RPA and / or Robotic Automation Tools is a plus

    • Backend & Database :

  • Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and perform performance tuning

    • DevOps & Tools :

  • Familiarity with CI / CD tools, version control systems (Git), and deployment pipelines
  • Experience with Appian DevOps tools and package management

    • Certifications (Mandatory) :

  • Appian Certified Lead Developer (must have)

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and participation in daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Familiarity with Appian Sites, Tempo, Reports, and document management features
  • Knowledge of BPMN principles and other BPM tools is advantageous
  • Experience in client handling, stakeholder management, and solution presentations
