My11Circle, a Games24x7 brand, is one of India’s largest fantasy sports platforms where millions of players create their own teams and join exciting contests. Our innovative features ensure an adrenaline rush for users, and this has driven exponential growth on our platform. We now host fantasy cricket contests at an unprecedented scale – supporting 15 million+ players in a single match – and we’re continually pushing the boundaries of online gaming.

At My11Circle, scale is in our DNA. Our systems handle extreme workloads, from 400,000 database writes per second with 99th percentile latencies under 15 ms, to surges of 18,000 contest join requests per second during peak events like the toss time of a cricket match. We run a modern tech stack – ReactJS and React Native on the front-end, Java and Node.js on the back-end, with MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoBD, ScyllaDB, Cassandra etc. powering our data, all hosted on AWS cloud. To meet dynamic demand, we’ve built an automated infrastructure scaling platform using ML that proactively scales our services for big events. Role Overview

As AVP-Engineering , you will be at the helm of My11Circle’s engineering team, guiding the development of our next-generation fantasy gaming platform. You’ll lead a talented group of ~40 engineers and work closely with product, business, and other cross-functional teams to build scalable, real-time, high-performance systems supporting millions of concurrent users . This is a dynamic, hands-on leadership role where you’ll define the technical vision, architect distributed systems , and ensure our platform remains fast, reliable, and ready for growth . In short, you’ll be responsible for keeping My11Circle several steps ahead in the game, by leveraging cutting-edge tech and innovative strategies to delight our users.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Mentor : Manage and mentor a 40-member engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and agility. Champion best practices in coding, architecture, and operations to elevate team performance.
• Architect Scalable Systems : Provide technical leadership in designing large-scale, distributed architectures capable of handling massive traffic. You’ll architect services that support 50M+ users and high throughput without breaking a sweat, ensuring we maintain sub-15ms response times at the 99th percentile.
• Optimize Data Infrastructure : Oversee our data persistence and caching layers. Ensure we leverage distributed databases optimally to handle peaks like 400K writes / sec while maintaining strong consistency and reliability. Introduce sharding, replication, or new storage solutions as needed to scale out seamlessly.
• Real-Time Event Processing : Drive the development of real-time event processing pipelines and matchmaking systems that can deal with extreme concurrency. For example, ensure our contest join systems handle tens of thousands of user requests per second during live toss events with grace, keeping the user experience smooth and contests filling fast.
• ML-Driven Infrastructure Scaling : Own and enhance our infrastructure automation – including our ML-driven AutoScaler. Leverage machine learning predictions to scale up capacity ahead of mega events (IPL, World Cup finals, etc.) and scale down efficiently post-peak. Your goal is to guarantee high availability and performance while optimizing cloud costs through smart automation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Designers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives. Translate product ideas into actionable engineering plans, and ensure timely delivery of new features and updates.
• Technical Strategy & Innovation : Stay ahead of technology trends and evaluate new tools or frameworks that can give us an edge. Whether it’s adopting new AWS services, improving our CI / CD and DevOps automation, or exploring new game-tech integrations, you’ll drive continuous improvement and innovation in our tech stack.
• Engineering Excellence : Ensure robust engineering processes – code reviews, automated testing, performance monitoring, and incident response are all part of your arsenal. You will uphold high standards of software quality, security, and scalability , ensuring that our platform remains rock-solid even under record-breaking traffic .
