Sr. Conversational AI Engineer – AWS Lex
Location : Remote – India (Preference from Bangalore, Coimbatore, or Chennai)

Level : L5–L6 (Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer equivalent)
About the Role
We are actively seeking hands-on builders with deep expertise in Amazon Lex and AWS Lambda to lead the migration and re-architecture of enterprise conversational bots from Microsoft Azure to a modern, scalable AWS-native stack. This is a greenfield opportunity to reimagine chatbot architecture for global enterprise use, supporting high-volume, high-reliability workflows.
You’ll join a cross-functional engineering team building secure, responsive, and intelligent conversational interfaces that deeply integrate with enterprise systems. This is a delivery-focused role for engineers who thrive in cloud-native environments and want to build and own impactful AI-powered experiences at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end replatforming of Azure Bot Services into Amazon Lex (v2), emphasizing performance, scale, and enterprise readiness
- Architect and implement reusable conversational modules : intents, slots, fulfillment, error handling, and session management
- Develop Lambda-based fulfillment workflows integrated with REST APIs, event buses (EventBridge), and Step Functions
- Collaborate with conversation designers and UX teams to craft natural and context-aware dialogues
- Implement DevOps pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or similar CI / CD tools
- Establish and maintain observability and monitoring for bot health, latency, and NLP performance
- Drive best practices around testing, deployment, and bot lifecycle management
- Ensure scalability, security, and compliance (e.g., SSO integration, audit logging, data masking)
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of software development experience with at least 2+ years focused on Conversational AIProven delivery of production-grade bots on Amazon Lex v2Strong AWS serverless background : Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridgeDemonstrated experience migrating from Microsoft Bot Framework or Azure Bot ServicesProficient in Python or Node.js for Lambda developmentExperience designing enterprise-grade conversational flowsFamiliarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation)Strong understanding of NLP concepts, error handling, fallback design, and session state logicExperience working in agile delivery environments with design, QA, and platform engineersPreferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS AI / ML services like Comprehend, Transcribe, or PollyUnderstanding of data governance and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA)Background in deploying bots into regulated industries (finance, insurance, healthcare)Exposure to chatbot analytics tools and NLU performance tuningFamiliarity with conversational analytics platforms (e.g., Amazon Lex analytics, Dashbot, Voiceflow)
