Responsibilities
The Software Asset Manager is responsible for managing the lifecycle of software assets across the organization to ensure compliance, cost efficiency, and alignment with business needs. This role exists to establish and maintain effective software asset management practices, with a strong focus on Microsoft licensing, as well as other major vendors and SaaS platforms. The role supports internal and external audits, optimizes software usage, and collaborates with key stakeholders across IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance.
- Establish and maintain a globally centralized, accurate inventory of all software assets, licenses, and usage data across regions and business units along with the necessary governance.
- Develop, implement, and enforce global SAM policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Monitor global software usage to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, reduce audit exposure, and manage legal and regulatory risks.
- Collaborate with global procurement teams to align software acquisition with strategic business needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and scalability.
- Partner with legal, finance, cybersecurity, and IT operations to ensure end-to-end compliance with contractual, regulatory, and security requirements.
- Lead global software renewals and negotiations, driving cost savings, value realization, and long-term vendor relationships.
- Drive data-driven optimization by analyzing global license utilization data to identify optimization opportunities, eliminate redundancies, and maximize ROI.
- Market Intelligence : Stay ahead of global software licensing trends, vendor audit practices, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and mitigate future risks.
- Deliver actionable insights and strategic reporting on software asset performance, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in software asset management or a related IT operations role.In-depth understanding of Microsoft licensing models and familiarity with other enterprise software vendors.Proficiency in SAM tools (Snow, ServiceNow, Flexera)Strong analytical and reporting skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsFluent in English.Willingness to travel occasionally across regions.Cultural awareness and ability to work in a multinational environment.
