Job Title : Business Development Manager (BDM) – Microsoft Sales

Location : Mumbai

Experience - 8 to 12 years

Role Overview :

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead sales of

Microsoft License Solutions . As part of the Microsoft sales team, you will be responsible for

building and executing strategies to sell Microsoft licenses (Office 365, Microsoft 365,

Windows Server, and other enterprise software offerings). You will engage with enterprise-

level clients, develop new business opportunities, and expand existing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities :

Microsoft License Sales Strategy & Execution :

o Develop and drive sales strategies focused on Microsoft license products,

including Office 365, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise software solutions.

o Identify key opportunities in both new and existing accounts, developing

comprehensive sales plans to meet revenue goals.

o Collaborate with account teams to provide customized licensing solutions

based on customer requirements, optimizing Microsoft offerings for maximum

value.

Customer Acquisition & Relationship Building :

o Identify and develop new business opportunities in enterprise accounts across

various industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing, education).

o Establish long-term relationships with C-level executives, IT decision-makers,

and procurement teams.

o Guide customers in selecting the right Microsoft licenses tailored to their

business needs, ensuring alignment with their broader IT and digital

transformation strategies.

Sales Lifecycle Management :

o Manage the entire sales cycle from initial prospecting and qualification

through to closing and post-sale support.

o Maintain and expand customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and

continued growth in license renewals and upsell opportunities.

o Monitor market trends and competitor activities, adjusting sales strategies to

stay ahead of the curve.

Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams :

o Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, technical consultants, and

partner channels to ensure smooth delivery of licensing solutions and services.o Coordinate with the licensing fulfilment teams to ensure seamless execution of

contract terms, software deployments, and support after the sale.

Market Insights & Reporting :

o Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance to

leadership.

o Share customer insights and feedback to help inform product development,

licensing bundles, and future marketing strategies.

o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft licensing structures, offerings,

and updates (e.g., Microsoft Cloud, Azure, M365 licenses).

Qualifications : Experience :

o Proven track record of 3-5 years in B2B sales, specifically in selling software

licenses, SaaS, cloud products, or IT solutions.

o Experience in Microsoft licensing solutions (Office 365, Microsoft 365,

Azure, etc.) is highly preferred.

o Demonstrated success in managing large accounts and driving revenue growth

through license sales.

Skills and Competencies :

o Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing models and software products,

including volume licensing, subscription models, and cloud-based solutions.

o Excellent consultative sales skills with the ability to engage with IT teams and

C-suite executives.

o Ability to understand customer pain points and offer tailored licensing

solutions to address them.

o Skilled in negotiations, contract management, and closing complex deals.

o Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) and sales

reporting.

Education :

o Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent

experience).

o Certification in Microsoft Licensing Solutions (e.g., Microsoft Certified :

Azure Fundamentals, MCSA) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

o Previous experience with enterprise accounts and Microsoft’s volume

licensing models (Enterprise Agreement, Open License, CSP).

o Deep knowledge of Microsoft’s cloud portfolio, including Azure and

Microsoft 365.

o Experience in a high-growth technology sales environment.
