Kafka Streams , and a deep understanding of

KRaft mode ,

Docker ,

Linux , and

Java / JVM tuning . Strong knowledge of

TCP / IP networking ,

firewall rules , and

is essential for ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance Kafka infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities : Install, configure, and administer

Apache Kafka clusters

in production and non-production environments. Manage

Kafka brokers, Zookeeper nodes , and plan transition to

KRaft-based architecture . Design and implement

Kafka Connect pipelines ,

ksqlDB queries , and

Kafka Streams

applications. Handle

Kafka security

configurations (SSL, SASL, ACLs) and integrations with monitoring / logging systems. Perform

performance tuning and JVM optimization

for Kafka components and Java-based clients. Develop and maintain

Shell scripts

to automate Kafka operations and monitoring tasks. Use

Docker

to containerize Kafka ecosystem tools for deployment and testing. Implement

backup and disaster recovery plans

for Kafka data and configurations. Monitor and manage

Kafka throughput, latency, disk usage,

cluster health . Troubleshoot network-level issues, including

TCP / IP connectivity ,

firewall rules ,

load balancers , and

DNS resolutions

impacting Kafka availability. Work closely with developers, DevOps, and security teams to support application integration with Kafka. Maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases for Kafka infrastructure.
