Position : Network Design Engineer / Lead
Responsibilities (MUST Have) :
- Office, IBX, Construction, M and A Requests
- Coordinate and create work orders for construction projects within IBX facilities.
- Manage and oversee expansion and build projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to standards.
- Attend calls to gather requirements from the architecture and construction teams.
- Prepare high-level and low-level designs based on gathered requirements.
- Prepare site specific network configuration templates for implementation team.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) based on architectural needs and project specifications.
- Develop rack layouts, cable matric, and IP schemas.
- Use Infoblox for managing and documenting IP addresses and subnets.
- Attend calls with the respective IBX / stakeholders to clarify and troubleshoot any network-related issues.
- Utilize Visio to create detailed network diagrams and project visuals and share them with the implementation team.
- Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide project management and oversite of GEN related activities. Including milestone deliverables, onsite attendance, updating project management tools (JIRA).
- Overall accountability for end-to-end project lifecycle.
- Provide comprehensive (360-degree) feedback to the architecture team.
GEN Wi-Fi End-to-End Accountability :
Take full responsibility for the end-to-end design, collaboration of GEN Wi-Fi projects with the Construction team.Collaborate with the GDC offshore team for predictive surveys and the GDC onsite team for physical Wi-Fi surveys.Provide project management and oversight of GEN related activities. Including milestone deliverables, onsite attendance, updating project management tools (JIRA).Overall accountability for end-to-end project lifecycle.Provide comprehensive (360-degree) feedback to the architecture team.Project Closure Documentation :
Prepare comprehensive documentation for project closure.Ensure all project details, changes, and final outcomes are accurately recorded.Use tools such as Visio for diagramming and Infoblox for network management and documentation.Requirements and Skills
Proven Hands-On Experience : Demonstrated experience in network engineering.Certifications : CCNP or higher (CCIE and / or CISSP highly valued).Deep Protocol Knowledge : Familiarity with networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS.OSI / TCP / IP Model Understanding : Solid grasp of the OSI or TCP / IP model.Monitoring and Diagnostic Tools : Practical experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools.Education : University degree in Computer Science or a related fieldProject Management Experience : PRINCE2, ITILv3 / 4, PMPTechnologies : zScaler, LAN, WAN, WiFi, Security, SD-WAN, Ethernet Cables, Fiber Cables.Platforms : Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, Cisco, ZPE, Opengear, Meraki, MIST, Infoblox, Cisco ISE, Ekahau.Skills : Microsoft Office, Visio / Lucidchart, JIRAExperience in creation of HLD and LLD documents.Programming knowledge (desirable) Python, Ansible, GIT.ref : hirist.tech)
